Why Laura (1944) may be the greatest movie ever
- It's in glorious black & white!
- Because the game "Is Waldo Lydecker gay?" never gets stale
- Because that glamourous mid-century movie star Gene Tierney kinda reminds me of dear old mom, back in the day
- Quintessential Film Noir at it's noirest
- Dig that crazy theme music!
- Sample Dialogue: "I hope you'll never regret what promises to be a disgustingly earthy relationship."

I vote for Citizen Kane - it was revolutionary in a way that is difficult for us to fully appreciate now because we are used to those cinematic techniques.
But Laura is also a damn fine movie.
Citizen Kane is fantastic, but is certainly not unappreciated. Laura is not precisely an undiscovered gem, but has recently emerged as a classic - it finally cracked the top 250 on IMDB, and was voted one of the top 5 mysteries by the American Film Institute.
